About Jaum Farm

Welcome to Jaum Farm, where faith, perseverance, and community drive everything we do. The farm was established in 1980 by Mr. and Mrs. Pedro and Mehelina Jaum. They used their savings from working as OFWs and DepEd teachers to start the farm. Their primary goal was to improve their family's financial situation and provide education for their children. Today, their daughter Karen Jaum-Toledo leads the family enterprise with innovative ideas and vision. The farm's mission now extends to transforming the community through various products, programs, and initiatives.

Our Mission and Evolution

Jaum Farm's journey began with a simple goal: to escape poverty and ensure the education of Mr. and Mrs. Jaum's three children, Karen, Pedro Jr., and Nolan. These goals were not only achieved but surpassed, leading to a broader mission. Today, we aim to fight ignorance and poverty through sustainable agriculture and education, impacting communities beyond our local area. Karen's dedication has helped us reach more people, bringing new ideas and innovative solutions to our operations.

The Four Pillars of Our Operations

  • Crops and Animal Production

Integration is the key to sustainability at Jaum Farm. We combine crop and animal farming with various innovative farm technologies. Our major crops include coconut intercropped with cacao and banana, maximizing the land’s value. We also cultivate ornamental plants and raise animals such as hogs, free-range chickens, ducks, and cows. This integrated approach ensures a diverse and sustainable farming system.

  • Agri-Food Processing

At Jaum Farm, we add value to our farm products by making the farm the primary source of raw materials. By processing what we grow, we transform low-value crops into high-value products, ensuring they are safe and healthy. Our synthetic-free crops provide the confidence that our products are of the highest quality. We are currently developing banana and coconut products and crafting items from indigenous materials.

  • Center for Education

Jaum Farm is a hub for learning, offering specific training in organic agriculture, crop integration, and agri-food processing. We partner with organizations like ATI Region 12, the Provincial Government of Cotabato, LGU Libungan, and Southern Christian College-Midsayap to conduct these trainings. Our programs empower community members with practical knowledge and skills to apply in their lives and contribute to broader community transformation.

  • Agritourism

Experience the beauty of Jaum Farm. Our agritourism initiatives provide a unique opportunity to connect with nature, learn about our sustainable practices, and immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Filipino cacao. Visitors can enjoy day tours that introduce farm technology, showcase farm amenities, and offer a serene riverside experience.

Looking to the Future

Our vision is to expand our food tourism by opening a café and a pasalubong center to showcase farm products. We also want to provide more training in bamboo, coconut, and banana crafting and become a TESDA field school. Our plans include developing amenities like dorms or cottages for guests, establishing an organic vegetable garden integrated with free-range chickens, and creating more job opportunities for the community. Your support is crucial in helping us turn these dreams into reality.
